No no, I'm not depressed. I just met this really cute guy today who started talking to me and then like 3 mins into the convo we somehow started talking about Valentine's Day and he said, ya I'm taking my gf out blah blah blah... I was like, oh... you have a gf... :'(

Its different with Christmas. It goes both way!
V-Day focus itself on the Guy giving the Girl gifts.

thats completely hypocritical. to say valentines day focuses on guys giving girls gifts is to generalize and overlook the larger meaning. of course i would agree that the vast majority of the population is a heterosexual couple celebrating with the male taking more of a lead role - but i could argue that christmas sees a white nuclear - middle class and up family exchanging presents. my point is you cant say people make a big deal about valentines day when you probably went christmas shopping for two weeks before december 25th

much like how christians celebrate the point of their religion on that day, some couples choose to remember the point of their relationship on another..

I like you.
You are trying to approach it from a logical point of view which is great. I might not agree with all the points but it will suffice.
Problem is, girls don't run on logic. Try explaining the "larger meaning" to a girl you are dating.
Then again, this is all from personal experience. Maybe I have just been dating the whiny princess type that doesn't like sex and only want a servant.

Yep, which is why you seem sexist even though you're mostly referring to the types you get.

I'd be really pissed at you for saying that, but the majority of my female friends are complete jerks to guys.
Sorry for your luck.

Wtf, what world do you live in? Is that what people think about Valentines day? No girls give gifts too, unless they are complete ******s.
