i agree - joshi is an okay prof.  the only problem i had with the class was the class in that people didn't really take it seriously and tended to talk through the whole thing - so joshi was constantly asking people to be quiet.  while i understand the class can be a bit boring, for someone like me with a disability who needs to record, it was a bit annoying having peoples' voices at the same time on my recorder.
tutorials were kind of a waste of time.  the TA kept trying to get a conversation going but people were too busy on their phones and facebook.  it was worth participation marks to show up.
the mid-term and final were all multiple choice.  the assignment is a bit different in that you had 2 choices.  the first was to be part of a discussion group where you meet with seniors who come to mac to talk about different issues, the other was where you go out in the community and work with a seniors' agency of some sort (i attended classes for a week and then did survey questions after at a seniors' centre).  then you have to write a first-person essay of your experience.
the only bad experiences were when the class talked over a guest speaker to the point where the guest speaker refused to come back and once when joshi went on a rant about how white people have it so easy and are all automatically prejudiced.  so if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff...
