It worked! I'm best friends with one of them, and even went to visit her in Australia. So you never know where random conversations can take you!

I strike up random conversations. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. People either think you're weird for randomly talking to them or their grateful because they're shy, themselves.

I love the volleyball reference.

That will be me when I go to Swaziland in May! My goal is to make friends because I don't want to buy a volleyball.

Well then that totally supports the fact that is DOES matter what a girl wears. I dont even dress "scene" and my personality definitely does not fall into a category like that. I dont look hardcore, i think when you saw me I was wearing skinny jeans a sweater. Im really confused... should I be wearing Uggs and and big sunglasses... would that me me "more approachable", everyone already said no.
So as per usual, I have no effing clue on the matter

Here's a shocking, innovative thought--stop complaining and instead, take the initiative to approach people yourself!

Most girls at mac are socially inept, as this thread proves. Try striking up a conversation and see if you can keep it going for more than a minute with the average girl here. And no... its not because of me.

I have, im not a hermit. I talk to alot of people and sometimes I have great conversations with guys I meet, then I develop crushes, then Im the girl they talk to when they want advice about approaching the girl THEY have a crush on.
Since when do girls get stuck in the f**king friends zone lol

Yah exactly! Worse thing a guy can say to you when you like him but you know the feeling is not reciprocated: "aww thanks, you're really sweet." YOU DO NOT EVER WANT BE CALLED SWEET.

Someone said that to me once. I told them to stop lying.
What I wanted to say was, "Don't flatter yourself, I just wanna bang."

When you have a crush on a person you talk to frequently TELL HIM. He can't know unless you don't.
Having said that, I tried it once. It went quite wrong :p

All girls that are decent looking or better get hit on an insane number of times. 95% of these guys that hit on them aren't exactly worth pursuing, so girls tend to ignore all guys that randomly hit on them (unless the guy is amazing looking, but that's another story).
A lot of nicer, quality guys tend to be shyer, so they have a lower chance of approaching more attractive girls and attractive girls, by virtue of being attractive, tend to have a higher standard when it comes to the looks of they guys they choose. Which means less attractive girls have a much larger population of quality, datable guys to choose from. Hence, more attractive girls tend to be lonelier, but that still doesn't mean any guy can approach an attractive girl and date her. If you're a good looking and nice guy, you can easily get an attractive girl... or any girl for that matter and I probably didn't have to tell you that.

destroyed me right there.
What about less attractive + shy guys like me?

That's easy.
No one can resist several photos of Benjamin Franklin.
Works like a charm.

Americans have Benjamin Franklin on their 100 dollar bills. I think that's what he's referring to.
I assume he didn't use Canadian money b/c Canadian money, although colored, doesn't have cool names associated with its monetary value.
