That's after you get the prof's permission I believe. Did your friend have to take 2A03 concurrently with 3A03? And is he/she in life sci or in another program?

yeah talk to dej, i know someone who switched out of physiology and she got a waiver; dej asked her a few questions about what courses she'd taken though, so she might want you to have something specific. only way to know is to ask dr. dej. She's a sweetheart though, so don't stress! Just walk up to her after the first class.

Would anyone be able to give me some more information about the final symposium?? Is this still part of the course because I don't seem to see it on the most recent course outline (2011), unless I'm completely missing something!

20 MC and 30 marks for short answers which require a few words or sentences. Nothing too long. midterms were 50 mins long and class avg for the tests were high like high 70s to mid 80s for first 2 tests. Very fair tests.

Took it last year with Dr. Da Silva, and it was a good course, I believe it was 4 midterms and 3 essays and final project and no final exam. There was a different prof for each of the four sections and they made the midterm so it doesn't make a difference if it is with Da Silva or not. IMO, the essays were relatively fairly, and final project was very easy to score 90+ on.

Forgot to add for the essays, they release certain topics on Avenue and only a set number of ppl can get each topic, so sign up as soon as they release it, and the essays were only 500 words if I recall correctly.

Did you find marking picky?

I read from someone that if you didn't have what was word for word in the answer key, you don't get the marks. I heard that short answer is brutal for this course.

And essays being docked harshly for things like inappropriate comma insertion, etc.

And last minute instructions for the symposium project that is worth 20%. Did you actually find out you got over 90% in it? I thought marks weren't released for it. Thanks!
