>mac can't compromise for more pay for housing services
>mac pays 13k out of pocket for proxy politician's luxury plane ride to Australia

I think that they need to set their priorities straight. This kind of bureaucratic lethargy is embarrassing to democracy

No they couldn't. If it were that relatively cheap, they would have done it already.

However, I believe that's how much it cost to start MUGSI. Just a thought.

You realize we're all arguing about $13,000, right? That costs like each of us like 10 cents a pop when you extrapolate it over the period of your university career. We have bigger spending problems that not as many people are getting upset about, like the aforementioned Commons makeover. They better use that random new nuclear science place they're building, or the extension on the Kin department for spine research, or I will be PISSED.

The Spectator also requested receipts for a $2,676 expense submitted by George to cover the cost of a rental car for the month of October 2006.

The university indicated that the actual receipt was lost. The university said that the vehicle rented by George was a Nissan Altima.
Finally got around to reading the original linked article. This part made me laugh so hard...

Amazing record keeping MAC!

$13,000 is pennies for a school.

It's not necessarily just the funds - it's the actions. Why should students have to pay for his wife's plane ticket? Maybe next month, we'll pay for his daughter's new car.
I came to Mac with certain expectations of where my money would go. And I didn't think I would be paying for someone's wife to go on an extravagant vacation.
