As for the kitchen thing, you really really do need to get a plan together. Last year, there really were two of us out of seven who did any cleaning whatsoever. If you're one of those people, it gets plenty aggravating.. and the worst was that all the dishes that were being used were also provided by the two of us.. If you are in a house sharing the one kitchen, make sure that you've got everyone equally committed to maintaining it! Otherwise it'll all fall a part. By the end of the year, the other girl who cleaned pulled everything out of the sink and put it in a garbage back with a note that said, "If you want to cook anything, then you can reach and here and clean it like I have to do every time.".. Nothing changed. I ended up bringing the bag home and doing it.. sigghh
One time, I was gone for two weeks and the bathroom I shared with two guys was literally black when I returned. Sooo nasty.
The landlord was no better. We had a baadd centipede problem. My one housemate couldn't sleep in her room out of fear of the creepy long-legged buggies. When we should have been given something like a dehumidifier, the landlord put down this dust stuff that she bought somewhere for $5... did nothing but make a huge mess.
The whole in the roof where the squirrels go in and out is still there just as it was.

Wow, that sounds like a terrible experience. I really hope my year doesn't end up turning like that.
I'm assuming you looked for another house/housemates for the following year?

Wow that really sucks =/
So far everyone in my house does the dishes, and usually it's not a lot. Once the other 2 move in thought I don't expect them to do much and the workload would just pile up D:
As a side note, the mould growing in the living room carpet is getting *really* nasty... >_<
My roommate poured like, 3 cups of Ajax and water on top of it yesterday just hoping that it'll kill it.

Ewww, thank goodness we don't have carpet. Be careful with mold, if you stimulate it they release their spores in the air...

It depends on the landlord. My landlord is alright, he's reasonable and open to suggestions. I asked for a closet in my room, for some reason there wasn't one. He said that he'll go to stores and see if he can get an armore (I have no idea how to spell it) that will fit in the room.

I think you should get yourself a new place once the contract is up.

I didn't read every single one of the posts on here but from what I read there was a bit of a misconception. There IS a starbucks on campus, it's the one in ITB. I'm not sure if they have every single thing that starbucks serves normally but I know that they DO have the specialty drinks. I buy specialty coffees there every time I go into ITB.
I believe that the one in the basement of CNH is now closed but if it is still open it's not all of their stuff. It's just those coffee machines that use strabucks grounds.
Again, not sure if someone already cleared this up but anyways there IS a starbucks on campus.

Yeah you should have read the posts. I stated that all the starbucks products on campus are gone as of this year. The ITB and CNH basement cafes are closed and being renovated with new products.
This info is from the IRC's Student Dining Committee, from the Director of Hospitality Services.

When you say renovated with new products do you mean that when it opens again it'll still be a Starbucks and will offer more than what they used to?

I don't know what products will be offered. Starbucks products will not be offered on campus anymore, that is for sure. There are talkings of a sushi bar in the CNH basement and the new engineering building.
