I was just offered a TA position for Term 2 and was wondering how likely it is to be offered another TA position for Term 1? My top choice was in Term 1, should I still have hope that I might get that one too?

There is no system for selecting TAs that is used throughout the entire school. In fact, it's usually specific to each individual professor.

You'll have to talk to your prof about it.
