Less? Everyone else has like <10, humanities seems to have 0, and health sci has like 36ish. Man.
I guess it's cause they're so much smarter than the rest of us.
/s
EDIT: 3 Young's, all in eng, all with their second medal. That family must be insanely good at academia.

those health scis...so smart. There's no other explanation for their grades, of course.

In previous years there's been more health sci. Also, the numbers in science are higher this year than in the past.

Just goes to show what highly subjective and often arbitrary marking gets you.
Can't say its the faculty's or the professors faults or anything buts it not like they can magically make essays or projects easily quantifiable they way say Math might be but it just kinda sucks. Its painfully difficult to get a 12 in a lot of Humanities courses and forget a 12 average.

I am amazed by these people.
How they manage to do it... I will never know. Huge respect.

I just look more towards the Dean's Honour List for high achievements in the Humanities, a solid 9.5/10 + average is a much more reasonable expectation for the way the courses are graded.
Nothing against the people who are able to get 12 averages because they obviously work extremely hard to achieve those grades though. Just because its different doesn't mean either group puts any less effort into their work. Its just sad that you won't see even the hardest working Humanities students on the highest honour list at the University because of something out of their control.

Well, the higher up you go in math, the more "subjective" marking can get. By that I mean - while you may get something like "x=6" or "x=c" in first-year and there's no two ways about it, by third year you'll be proving extensively. Proof-work is basically argument, so, just like in the humanities, you're being marked on your argument...

Interesting. I didn't know math was like that, but obviously there's many, many types of math I know nothing of.

What math courses have you done proofs in? Did you take 2X or 2R, by any chance?

Yeah, I didn't either until last year, to be honest - the first year courses aren't really good indications of upper-year math. I was in History at the beginning of this year, and switched into math as I got more and more into the interesting stuff...
