Psych 2TT3, 2F03 and 2H03... Tips for these classes
i would like to know how these three psych classes are like and how i can get at least a 8 in the course...
also, the level of difficulties in these classes...?

are there any tricks in some test? what to expect from lectures and tests
how should i study for it.. ( use lecture notes, textbooks, old tests?)
how is the exam like and midterms like? what are the preferences of the profs.. i.e how do they word questions on midterms and exams...? and how well do they explain stuff

i heard psych 2 is very hard.... if so wat did u do to survive the class with a good mark

lol.. too many questions.. but i would really appreciate any suggestions, Tips and Hints.
thanks in advance..

Someone posted this reply from the faculty discussion.. i find it useful

Well, 2F03 to me was really interesting. You learn a lot about the brain and illnesses caused by damage to certain areas of the brain. I'm not sure who the prof is, but I had Ullal, and honestly he's amazing. He really knows his stuff and his lectures are interesting. The class I was in was huge, and there were no assigned T.A's however, there were TAs for the course. I always went to them for help and they were really helpful. Ullal was also really good at answering questions. In regards to the tests- they were straight from his lecture slides however, it is important that you make your own personal notes. For me, I had a lot of notes from his class because although he posted his slides, he gave a lot of additional information not mentioned on the slides. In the end I ended up with a 8 but I could have done better and I will explain why that was....

2H03 <- this is why I ended up with a 8 instead of something higher in 2F03. Honestly, I had Shore and from what I see, he's not teaching this year so that's a good thing. He was HARD in my opinion. His test demanded soo much and required a lot of studying and a lot of cramming. I did however end up with a 10 but I mean that was a lot of work. The course material is also interesting. I can't really give insight because I don't think the guy I had is teaching..

2TT3 well I'm taking that class this year, so hopefully we both enjoy the course

I took all 3 courses last year. All three have multiple choice tests only. I

2F03 was a really interesting course, but make sure you make a ton of your own notes from class. I stopped reading the textbook after the first midterm, because he only uses information that he says in class. There is a LOT of stuff in the textbook that he doesnt go over. Just use your text as a reference if you dont know something. A problem I had with this course is that if you missed something in class, you would be a little screwed unless someone else told you about it. Definately find a study group for this class.

2H03 was also really interesting. The tests can be really confusing but just study your tail off and choose the answer that stands out to you.

2TT3: Make sure you go to the review sessions for the midterms. He used the questions most people got wrong on the first midterm on the second midterm. There were about 5 or 6 re-used questions and I was kicking myself for not going to the review session. He then used some of those questions AGAIN on the final. Also, make sure you know your graphs well because those are a lot of easy marks on the tests.

I took all of these classes this year and did pretty well

2F03 - Ullal is wonderful so really try to get him, he goes fast sometimes but only because he's excited, he loves when you ask questions and will slow things down if you ask him to, he really wants you to learn and will always help you any way he can, its up to YOU how much help you ask for though, so make sure you get things cleared up early on!

2H03 - my favorite course of the year! I had humphreys who is wonderufl, she made it so much fun, just go to class and take it in, it helped me to take light notes in class then type up your notes with the posted slides after, it really helped me make the connections

2tt3 - this course was really interesting, I had Dukas who really knows his material and is very organized. the course can be difficult at times, but the textbook is really good. i found the tests similar to those of first year bio so if you did well in that you should be fine. so really interesting material but can be challenging, just keep up with the work!

TIP - for all of these courses, concept maps really helped me, so many of the questions are about the connections between different concepts so taking some time even before a test to put it all together on one paper really can provide some clarity!
