Just when you thought you were done math...you have to take Stats. Despite myself not being the most mathmatically inclined person, I did well in this class.
Bruce was a good prof, who provided really good examples and went through everything step-by-step. The assignments, although tedious and rather numerous (I think five) ended up boosting my mark in the end. Since I knew lots of people in the class a group of us worked together which helped. We had a midterm and a final exam, which were very fair.

From what I could see from the assignments and tests, this class is just a repeat of Grade 12 Data Management. Just a head's up for people that need to decide what stats they're taking (like me).
For those of you in economics, I've spoken to Prof. Bruce and he told me that Soc Sci 2J03 will leave Honours Economics students unprepared for the stats courses we have to take later on during 3rd and 4th year.
Does anyone know the complete breakdown? For instance 5 assignments 10% ea. and then say a 50% final? sadly i am forced to take this so any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Overall, pretty easy class.
Just do the assignments and take good notes in class and you should be fine
Ask him a lot of questions before midterms/exam (eg. format, sample questions) and he gives you pretty good answers
does anyone know if going to class is MANDATORY? his slides are really good and straight-forward and even when I do go I never feel the need to add stuff in.

Not everyone is that good with numbers and calculations so refrain from making such statements. My class in particular did not have everyone doing so good.
