I wondering the same thing, such as if the textbook is really necessary? Are there practice questions assigned that come out of the text?

You dont need the textbook at all, there is a pdf online. You can use the pdf to read the material over, no assigned questions are necessary, make sure you do over the practice tests in the stats 2b03 manual a couple of times before the tests.

Some ppl have some of the previous tests, they will help you practice more, you can your friends for them.

I bought the textbook last year and its not really necessary. I had Volterman and I really liked his notes. He always gave good practice problems. The textbook is more of a safety thing if you feel like you need more practice. Although the lab manual had very good practice problems in it and its so worth doing EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM in it because those questions do pop up on your midterms and exam. Sometimes the questions are word for word with the same numbers, and other times the numbers are different. You can definitely survive on the lab manual alone. But you do need minitab (the software) for the online assignments.
