So I had hoped to go into the Biology and Environmental Sciences program for my second year this fall, and I required three of a selection of Enviro Sci courses to take, but because it took me over two hours to get into SOLAR, all of these classes were full by the time I tried to enroll. Am I screwed? I mean, I NEED these courses for this program.

You should the environment science department and tell them your situation and if they can open a seat for you in certain courses.

I was registered in Stats 2B03 (Easy for me to get in since I am in forth year) but ended up dropping it and took Social Science 2J03 (Intro to statistics). Apparently if you want to continue with stats in upper years, then this one is not helpful. But if you just need a stats course, check it out. I didn't have the prereqs for it, but I just emailed the social science department.

Crazytown, just email Luc Bernier and he'll open seats for you.

Thanks jachill. I just emailed him, along with an email to the Sci faculty last night. Here's hoping for the best.

is it just me.. or a lot of courses are just all full? I heard about something that spots are reserved? I talked to an Academic Adviser she said they are not. Even my core courses are full! If i don't get in I'll be doing nothing

Well, you are guaranteed to get into your required classes for your degree, so if those are full, contact your academic advisor.

Wow, I actually got the nerve to e-mail a prof about a full course - and all they said was, "Sorry, it's full." What a waste of time that was. As if I didn't know it was full already.

I did that, and they said I could call back in July after the course opens for first years (It's a first year course) and see if there's any seats left, in which case they'll save one. Otherwise I can just wait until SOLAR reopens. But if I don't take that course this year, I can't stay in my program. There's no prof listed for the class yet, so I can't email them, but I've seen people say here that they've emailed the prof of a 'full' class that they need to take, and gotten a seat. Ugh, this is frustrating.

Has anyone heard anything about Biology 2L03 (Dr. Jacobs)?
I havn't heard anything about it but my rational is that since that course and stats are both "recomended" for your thesis, that you might as well do Bio 2L03 now and then stats in the summer?

ps: If something is on your course list do they reserve more seats considering that, or is it only if its required?

I've had that same question actually but never bothered asking lol I just added the course list courses that I wanted to take to the list of required courses that I needed a seat in and the advisor I talked to didn't say anything and opened seats for me in all of them without a problem.

Another quick question...what is the date that our payment agreement must be done by?

I tried but they're like they can't do anything about it and my best bet is to contact the professors.

If you don't mind me asking, who did you email exactly? I contacted one of the student advisors (Rita Campbell) over two days ago and never got a response :p
