The government just collapsed. It doesn't matter how often or the way in which elections are run if the government isn't stable enough to maintain itself and the people of its country. Obviously. None of the Arab countries have a true democracy. Starting with all the kingdoms in the region and ending with every other country that has an authoritarian rule. Anyway, back on topic. I think it's too early to really tell and that's what all the experts are saying too. It'll all be clear once we see how protests are tomorrow and what Mubarak's so-called new "gov't" looks like. Abdel-Nasser also had his flaws, like the idea of joining Syria and Egypt into the United Arab Republic.. Look how that ended -_-. I personally liked El-Sadat more. He was less impulsive with decisions and he handled a very difficult time really well.

Ahh.. I wish. That would solve everything.

Sorry but even with that ratio, I find it irrational to hate ~7695000 people.
And the war on terrorism is very much real.

The military is very well respected by the egyptians as it is seen as the protector. The protestors stopped the tanks and greeted the soldiers at friday night, after the curfew was issued. They even chanted "1..2.. where is the egyptian army" to protect them from the rutheless riot police. turned out they were there to further supply the riot police with teargas cans and not protection - :'(. I hope that Hosny Mubarak wakes up from his 30 year long dream and realize that he is not a pharaoh

Yeah a bunch of ragheads who have nothing to do in life but to attack the most powerful milatiry orginization in history...

War on Terrorism is the BIGGEST Oxymoron ever. War is the ultimate form of terrorism. You cannot have a war on terror. For those who invade countries and impose a "democracy" are terrorists like those who blew themselves up in another country.

The problem with Israel is that most "Jews" who came to Israel aren't even pureblood. Palestinians who lived during 1940s were more semite than the immigrant jews who came to Plaestine buring the British Mandate. That's is one of the reason why the "justification" of Israel's existence is complete bullocks.

How would you feel if Eastern Asian Siberians came in Canada by the thousands, made an army, stole Canada from the Canadians and then native indians joined them. You will loose your place to live and the justification of the land being taken away would be :"Eastern Siberians share a common recent ancestor with Native Americans". Well, in Israel case, the Zionist also said that they were "Chosen people"...

Equinox says thanks to Commander for this post.

Did you think of that all on your own? So clever and well thought out.

I'm not gonna play semantics. You know what I meant by "war" as in the metaphorical sense, but you chose to take it literally. Everyone in their right mind knows that the War in Iraq was unjust, if that's what you were hinting at.

I don't know what you meant and I don't care. War is war, don't try to make your own dictionary and try to look smart.

And it's not just Iraq, war in Afghanistan is unjust. Every war is unjust.

Why would weaker people fight the stronger ones ?

It's because they were bullied and oppressed. Simple as that. I see it happen in every elementary school's playground.

Probably, but if you're narrow-minded enough to generalize and hate an entire ethnic group, you really need to re-evaluate yourself. I don't know which country you immigrated from, or whether you were born here. Regardless, you are now (hopefully) a CANADIAN. So whatever problems you might have had "back home", don't bring that crap here and instigate hatred.

Omg....

Did I say I was hating on an entire ethnic group ? No

Did I generalize ? No

Instigate Hatred? If the truth brings hatred along with it, then so be it. I can't do nothing about people's heart.

I am not surprised. You use the same tactics the supporters of Israel use, i.e calling other people anti-Semite.

Btw, I can't be an anti-Semite because I am a Semite myself.
