first year electives
hey everyone,
so im looking into taking first year russian (1Z03) just as an elective. im wondering if its a hard course and what kinds of things does it entail? is this a course i can get a good mark in with no experience in russian whatsoever? if anyone has any recommendations for really good first year elective courses i would love to hear.
thanks!

I don't really know much about that russian course, but a couple really good electives for me were Econ 1B03 and 1BB3. They were somewhat interesting to me, and with a tad bit of effort you can get an amazing mark in them. If not those, I also took Psych 1X03 and 1XX3, which were my favourite courses all year, but they definitely were not very easy.

The course is intended for people with no prior knowledge of Russian, so I wouldn't worry about that
I don't know anything about the course specifically, but the prof got really good reviews on ratemyprofessors.com

I'm taking English 1AA3 right now and I really like it. I imagine that the course might be slightly different during the year itself so you might want to take this with a grain of salt. other than that, I took Physics 1B03 with Sills and that was by far the best nonmandatory course I had to take in first year. It was only Sills in summer school and he no longer teaches at Mac, but I just feel that I learned a lot from that course.
