TEXTBOOKS
Buying textbooks is something you should hold off on doing unless you're buying USED textbooks for required questions. For electives, wait until the first class to see if you like the course or not. Read all the textbook buying tips here.

Go here to get your textbook list printed off so you know what to get for each class.

STEPS:
1) Click your program from the left column. Wait for the next column to load.
2) Next, click your term (eg. Fall 2012)
3) Choose your department
4) Choose the course code
5) If applicable, choose the section

Use the MacInsiders Marketplace: Courseware section to find used books and you can contact MacInsiders users directly to negotiate a price and location to meet on campus to exchange. Also, you can buy used textbooks at Titles Bookstore (now known as the 'Campus Store'). Details on the links above.

GETTING YOUR TUITION PAYMENT READY FOR SEPT 1:

First payment for Tuition is due SEPTEMBER 1ST. You can't miss this deadline. Have payment ready through one of the accepted methods that McMaster accepts. They DO NOT accept credit cards. The best way to pay is online via Interac (through the Payment Agreement in MUGSI/SOLAR), or by dropping off a cheque on campus. You can also do telephone banking if you wish.

IF PAYING BY CHEQUE

Drop it off in person to:
Student Accounts & Cashiers
Gilmour Hall, Room 209
McMaster University
1280 Main Street West
Hamilton, ON L8S 4L8

Payments should be made payable to “McMaster University”.

Ensure that your name and student ID number are written clearly on your payment.

Payments can be deposited in our convenient before/after-hours drop box located outside GH 209.

IF PAYING ONLINE VIA INTERAC

Select the “PAY NOW” button from the Payment Agreement/ Account Statement
  • All payments made through INTERAC Online show on your Account Statement as "pending" that day, then as a payment the next business day
  • Currently, students who bank with BMO, RBC, Scotiabank or TD can use this method.
  • You will need to have your bank debit card ready. (PLEASE NOTE: Students who have the new VISA/Debit client cards will find this service currently unavailable).
  • Follow the directions as indicated.

For international payment methods and more options click here to read about those.
