If Wind's network was a little more reliable I'd switch in a heartbeat. But by the time my contract is over, I think they'll be fine

I was on the $25 Wind student plan, and I just switched to this new Holiday Miracle plan and bought a BlackBerry Pearl 9100. Wind is amazing!
I ported my number from Fido a few months ago, and I haven't had any real problems with Wind's service. No dropped calls, no missing texts (I might have missed one), and generally good call quality. Now if only Apple releases an AWS-compatible iPhone...

How did you buy your Blackberry? Windtab?
Did you take advantage of the Buy Blackberry Bold 9700 get Blackberry Pearl for free offer?

you could alwqays tell Rogers that your leaving to go to wind for this amazing deal, and retention would probably offer you a better one, only thing is you would probably have to renew your contract.....

If they're willing to match this deal, I'd be willing to stay; I have no issues with Rogers, their prices are just way too high.

They will never match the price. They can match the features though...
I paid $70 from Fido. At Rogers, expect to pay about $80...

Another amazing thing about WIND is that they're one of the few companies who would allow existing customers to switch to this. Normally companies only offer deals to get people to join them in the first place, but once you're with them you're ignored. I honestly thought WIND was one of those companies, after seeing some of the amazing deals new signers got. But now that I've seen them with offers like this, my opinion of them has gotten even higher.

Just an update.
End up canceling my Fido contract. Sold my iPhone to balance out the termination fee.
Took advantage of the Buy Blackberry Bold get Blackberry Pearl free. Also, was able to have them combine it with the $20 Facebook discount.
Restricting the phone to Wind Home zone only was a breeze on these two phones which eliminate the potential roaming charges.
Wind mobile told me its unlimited calling to US, not just 2 hours like it was stated in the original post.
So far so good.
Reception indoor is weaker than Fido. 1 bar on Fido would equal to 0 for Wind.
Wind calls quality is suffering a bit due to the "half-duplex" problem.
Still, for the price and features, I'm happy regardless of the problems.

Switched to Wind from Telus yesterday for the holiday miracle plan. I get 2 or 3 out of 4 bars here in Newmarket, but I can't comment on Hamilton yet.
This plan kicks so much ass! If anyone has a U8100 make sure you get the firmware update on wind's website that will allow your phone to be a wifi hotspot and speeds everything up.

Thanks for the update! I'm still waiting to switch, since the original deal I got for switching gave me $25 per month credit, and I want to get the December credit before I switch. It usually comes on the 23rd or 24th, so I was worried about cutting it close. The extension means I don't need to worry about missing it
Also, watch out for that firmware update if your phone isn't new, it will clear everything on your phone not saved to a MicroSD card. Didn't think it through when updating, had to redownload all my apps.
EDIT: Actually, do you have a source for the extension? Their website and Twitter haven't mentioned it yet.

The update is from Howard Forums from the same guy who leaked the 25/40 plans the day before they were official. Be careful about waiting for the credit because WIND's phone lines are completely overloaded and I'm sure it won't be much better with boxing day activations etc. I called yesterday to try to add unlimited social BB to my plan (I don't have a blackberry but you never know down the line :p) and the wait time was like 2 hours.
Here's the huge thread if you're interested:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...5-and-40-plans
Supposedly the $20 per month always shout plan that was offered for friends of employees months ago is now open for everyone as well.
