What Grades do you need to be a TA?
Hi,

I am interested in a TA position for the coming fall, I didnt have great grades in first year, but I did ok in my second and third year. What grades are they looking for to be qualified as a TA?

I think you need something like atleast an 8 or 10 to be considered a TA in that particular course...

It depends on the course you're looking at TAing. There are no university-wide TA prerequisites. Some look at overall average, some only look at the specific course you want to TA, some look at anything in that subject area. There are other things that some departments base it on as well.

Depends on the course/how competitive it is to obtain a position, but I'd say 10+ in that course and 9.5-10+ overall gives you a pretty reasonable chance.

Grades don't matter so much as your problem-solving skills, content familiarity, socializability, and teaching ability to the professor/interviewer. Its highly variable, depending on how competitive the particular course is (i.e. first year, highly popular courses (1x03) are more competitive than some random 2nd year obscure course).
