Kinesiology 1A03/1Y03
Okie dokie, I'm a first year Kinesiology student, and I'm forced to take this course, and it is the best course that I've ever been forced to take. No question.
You start with Dr. Parise, who is far and away my favorite prof I've had this semester. You start with embryology and...

Most interesting course of the year
I know that it sucks to have to stress over the test every single week but they really prepare you when it comes time to study for the exam.
Remember to take thorough notes in class because the notes do not cover everything that's in the tests.

Has anyone had Dr. Krista Howart teach this course before? I honestly searched around and found nothing about her that can help me learn about the style of teaching she uses and whether she's a good prof. For this semester I have MacDonald first then then Howart later in the course.

It's been MacDonald & Parise for a reallly long time (at least four years) so you probably won't find much on this new person teaching it.

This course requires a lot of memorization. Just spend some time to go over covered material. Completing the pre-lab questions on avenue and simply attending the labs is also important. Remember to hit "submit" (something that I forgot to do once on the pre-lab quiz).

I took this course last year as my elective with kin 1yy3. they were definetly my two favorite courses, but probably two of my hardest. The information is all relevant and interesting, and its always fun to learn stuff about your own body!

I am in first year kin and this is hands down my favourite course out of both my mandatory and elective courses! I heard previous years had Parise, our year didn't get him for either 1A03 or 1AA3. We got MacDonald and Howarth for 1A03, loved both of them. And we currently have MacDonald and Pincivero for 1AA3. Not a fan at all of Pincivero, but the material is definitely keeping me interested!

Really great courses. The amount of material you are required to know can be a little overwhelming but for the most part it's really interesting stuff which makes it a lot easier.

For the past two years, things have changed in terms of profs.
Macdonald teaches all of the embryology stuff and then instead of Parise, you get Howarth.
In the second semester, you get Macdonald again and Pincivero.

For the record Howarth is a great professor. This year she won the Kinesiology teaching award (for her Physical Activity Epidemiology course.)

Yeah, Howarth is great.
Pincivero on the other hand can be really out of order in terms of teaching - he doesn't follow the old slides that the other profs use.
And we have know every statistic/number said in lecture on our avenue quizzes.
